A POCKET-SIZED ARCADE
A free online marble game with a mechanical heart
PINBAWL is a free pachinko-inspired game that runs in your browser. Pull the plunger, release a steel ball and watch it bounce through five rows of pegs into one of 12 slots. A walnut cabinet, glass cover and chrome details bring the feel of a small mechanical arcade to your screen. You start each session with 500 virtual balls; there is nothing to buy and nothing to cash out.
This is a physics-based marble arcade, not traditional flipper pinball. There are no left or right flippers, and it is not a replica of a Japanese pachinko machine. If you are looking for a casual pachinko simulator, expect a simplified peg-and-slot game with its own rules. Launch power and physical collisions affect the path; the landing slot is not selected in advance. The 12 slots are not equally likely, and the number of lit slots is not a measured win probability.
How to play PINBAWL
- Add at least five balls. Use +1, +5, +10 or a custom amount. Added balls come out of your virtual ball bank.
- Lock the multiplier. Press OK while the values change. The default tiers are 2×, 4×, 6×, 8× and 10×, with 4, 3, 2, 1 and 1 lit slots respectively. You can add more balls before the first launch without changing the locked slots.
- Hold, then release. Hold the plunger with a mouse or touch. On a keyboard, focus it and hold Space. Power varies while you hold; release to launch through the pegs.
- Watch the landing. A lit slot returns your final stake multiplied by the locked value, including the balls you put in. An unlit slot returns zero. If a ball returns to the launch lane or stalls, relaunch the same shot without adding balls.
A winning return of 50, 100 or 150 balls earns 1, 2 or 3 point cards, capped at three per round. Each card is one virtual point. When a settled session has fewer than five balls left, the scorecard appears. Restart to get a fresh 500 balls.
Use Settings to change all five multiplier tiers and the number of lit slots. Each tier can light 1–6 non-adjacent slots. Changes apply immediately before a round starts, or to the next round if you have already added balls. Reward preview shows effects only; it does not award balls or points.
Questions before your next bounce
Is this pachinko-style game free? Does it use real money?
Yes, it is free. All balls, cards and points are virtual. There are no purchases, deposits, withdrawals, cash prizes or physical rewards.
Do I need to download an app or create an account?
No. Play on pinbawl.app in a browser with JavaScript and WebGL 2 enabled. There is no registration, app installation or plug-in requirement.
Can I play on a phone?
The controls support touch: hold and release the plunger. On small screens, the page scrolls back to the board after launch. Your browser needs WebGL 2 support; performance depends on your device.
Is PINBAWL the same as pinball or real pachinko?
No. Traditional pinball has flippers; PINBAWL does not. It borrows the peg-and-ball idea from pachinko but uses its own 12-slot board, multipliers and virtual scoring. It is not a faithful simulation of a particular real machine.
Will my progress survive a refresh or language switch?
No. Refreshing, restarting or switching between English and Chinese starts a fresh session. Only your saved rules are kept in this browser's localStorage, when available. There is no account or cloud save.
Can I control the landing slot?
You choose when to release the plunger, but cannot choose a slot or guarantee a win. Gravity, collisions and small launch variations affect the result. More lit slots do not imply a fixed measured win rate.
What do speed, sound and reward preview change?
2× speeds up the simulation and effects without changing the physics step size. Sound can be muted. Settings includes a reward animation preview available before adding balls or after a session ends; it never changes your balance or score.
